Mas de la Pansa 'Trepat'

The horse, Vermell, is the image of the Trepat. This is a tribute to Vermell, the horse that saved the life of Imma Soler’s father when he was only 3 years old. Her grandfather on her father’s side was working in the field, when Vermell stopped in his tracks. He would refuse to continue the row. The grandfather insisted, but luckily, the horse did not heed his orders. He wouldn’t do it because at his feet he saw the little boy, Soler’s father. Thanks to his astuteness, today the scare has become an endearing story to share.

This family vineyard is certified organic, and is farmed with minimal intervention. The Trepat is harvested by hand, sorted, then macerates and ferments for 29 days in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine undergoes a soft pigeage daily to improve extraction. After a soft pressing the wine rests in second use French oak barrels for four months, until bottling in April without fining or filtration.

Trepat [Tray-POT] is an indigenous red grape from Conca de Barberà.  Traditionally used to produce light, fruity and pleasant rosé wines in both still and sparkling form.
